I'm Lisa, the chef, baker and owner here at Forks & Stix. Food has been my passion since I was little, and I love bringing people together around a shared table. That's the feeling I want you to have here.

This whole adventure started at the Boondocks Saturday morning farmers market with a borrowed table, a borrowed tent and (true story) the sheets off my bed. I started with egg rolls, but Keys rain, hot grease and a sweltering tent do not mix! So I took all those gorgeous market veggies and fresh fish and turned them into poke bowls, tuna towers and sushi. You kept coming back, and when a little spot on Big Pine presented itself, our family jumped.

These days my husband Geno rolls the sushi. Order his Piner Roll, a surprise creation that's our best seller! Our son Gage was a huge part of building this place these last three years, and I'm the one dreaming up the cakes and pies. The menu is always changing, because experimenting is half the fun.

Bring your own drinks, snap a Polaroid for our map and show us where you're from. The heart and soul of this place is my team and you, our customers. Welcome to the family!

Stopped here on our way through the Lower Keys and was genuinely impressed. The sushi is super fresh (they overnight fish from Honolulu), and the rolls are creative and well-executed. We ordered the spicy tuna roll and the Piner Roll (the chef’s surprise special) — both were excellent. The poke bowls also look amazing if that’s more your style. They have a solid mix of options beyond sushi too (sandwiches, tacos, etc.), so the whole group was happy. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. If you’re looking for something better than the usual touristy Keys fare, this place is a must. Highly recommend!

I had a very good experience at this restaurant. The roll they first brought me was tasty, but I wanted the eel to be on top. A little later, the chef came over to ask exactly how I preferred it and said he would make it the way I wanted. He prepared it perfectly — the roll turned out wonderful. Such a great spot. The food has great authentic Pacific Island flavors, great vegetarian and vegan options too. I had the tofu lettuce wraps and they were so delicious. Came back the next day to get the bento box lunch special and it was great as well.

Celebrated our anniversary here and Sticks and Forks did not disappoint. The overall vibe is great, but the food steals the show. If you go, you have to get the piner roll. It is the best sushi my wife and I have tasted in years. Total gem on Big Pine Key!
